Discussion:
Flood of email/Filling Quota
(too old to reply)

I leave my messages on the server (I check in several different places,
and it helps me) but recently there has been an influx of spam messages.
For the past four days, I've been averaging over 500 messages. That's
over 2000!!! And all basically the same.

I'm not sure that anyone else gets them. It might just be that the
return address was set to my account. And if it was, that really sucks.
But I've checked the headers on a lot of the messages, and I don't see
my address anywhere in them.

So, what can I do to get these messages from coming? Should I send them
to someone at Roadrunner? I can't keep logging into webmail and deleting
these things, there's too many.

Also, what is the quota RR has on the email accounts. Webmail is showing
me as using 10MB, but I read somewhere in this newsgroup that it was
20MB. Though these messages only take up ~3KB each, the number of them
is overwhelming (even though in my junkmail filters, most go away) and
add up quickly. Since I don't check my email every five minutes, I don't
know when I pass the limit.

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for but you could try something
like Google Mail instead. Hopefully you won't need it but they give you 2GB
of email space and their attachment size maximum is more than what RR gives
you for your entire mail storage.

Another thought, if you run any computers persistenly you could have it
remove all emails that are suspect SPAM either using filtering rules that
you manually define or some sort of SPAM killing application.

Good luck with your issue.

The information on where to send complaints on spam is documented on
security.rr.com. You can also use spamcop.net.

Information on the size of email boxes and other email information is at

Unfortunately the web site doesn't not appear to be accurate. At
www.help.rr.com/HMSLogic/email_help_topic.aspx it says the mailbox limit is
10 MB. You have previously told us it is now 20 MB.

And at www.help.rr.com/HMSFaqs/e_filesizelimit.aspx?topic=E-mail it says
the limit on a single email is 10 MB. Strange that I recently received an
email with 12 MB of attachments. Equally strange there would even be a
single email limit if it is the same as the mailbox limit.

Maybe if the help.rr.com pages were in some way kept current we would not
ask questions here.

Since we still don't have the answers, I'll restate the question: What are
the mailbox and single message limits in RR mail?
