As a gamer...why do I lag with RR so.calif?

I play a game called BF1942 online.
I have a fast system. SB4100 modem and good general use.

When I join any paid for game server to run BF1942, I still
ping at a reasonably good 59-65ms. I know about a games net prediction.

I'm a very good player..but I get shot dead too many times unloading
a full clip at someone someone 3 feet away while he uses half a clip.
I know how to shoot at head for maximum kill effect.

I just don't understand why I get such lousy frustrating BF1942
experiences on almost every paid for leased game server based outta the
midwest USA. It's like my gun is shooting freaking rubber bullets.

I'm guessing it's how our sandiego rr is run thru to orange county to
the midewest or something.

I've run a few tracert's and pings to servers...no HUGE anomolies.
I still feel like there's something up.

The games netprediction gamecode is equal to all...butI work twice as
hard to kill online game entities with San RR.com connect to midwest
leased game servers.

Edwin...if I do some more research of ping and tracert data...can
anything possibly be done to improve the situation?

Thanks.

I've experienced not having to empty a full clip into other online
entity to do him in before he does me in.
And...my ping was a lot higher.

It has to do with the excessive router hops to midwest game servers, I'm
guessing.
Most of them are based in the midwest to serve widest possible area.
Anyways...I can tell...San RR sucks for performance to the midwest for
those many leased game servers.

If the lag time is nominal, why would the number of hops matter? Unless
you think the ping time when you're sending lots of data is notably
higher? Or unless you think the game is doing something to slow you down?

Have you done pings *while* you're playing? Or only outside the game?

I've not done any during game.
Just seems there's some kinda loss to game servers based in the midwest.
Many are based there.

LET ME just say that for gaming...RR connect to major midwest servers
sucks shit. And that is where most major game servers are based.
