I personally have seen some disruption within the last week, but the
national engineer is asking how we are doing.

Feedback?

Usenet has generally been very stable. The completion rate in the binary
groups I visit has been near perfect. Sure there has been an occasional
hiccup, but they have been few, infrequent and of short duration.

A great improvement over the past!

You reckon it is safe to come back in from the ($8/mo giganews) cold?

Only if you can live with the short retention interval on RR. They never
promised to improve it so I don't hold it against them when assessing their
service. RR is currently around 7 days retention in text groups and 2 days
in binaries. I think giganews is around 20x longer, if not more.

I'm a frequent user, and it's been ok lately. Haven't noticed any
problems.

If I say "pretty good" am I risking them putting it back like it was?
