I've received several of these emails over the last couple of months.

Seems like spam, but what's the point? Anyone know who's behind it?

COURT DOCUMENTS:
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer Vowed to "KILL" Google

News Published: September 2, 2005, 1:07 PM PDT
Reprinted From CNET News.com - Written by Ina Fried

----- ---- --- -- - -
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer vowed to "kill" Google in an
expletitive-laced, chair-throwing tirade when a senior
engineer told him he was leaving the company to go work
for Google, the engineer claimed in court documents made
public on Friday.

In a sworn statement made public Friday, Mark Lucovsky,
another Microsoft senior engineer who left for Google in
November 2004, recounted Ballmer's angry reaction when
Lucovsky told Ballmer he was going to work for the search
engine company.

"At some point in the conversation, Mr. Ballmer said:
'Just tell me it's not Google,'"Lucovosky said in his
statement. Lucovosky replied that he was joining Google.

"At that point, Mr. Ballmer picked up a chair and threw it
across the room hitting a table in his office," Lucovosky
recounted, adding that Ballmer then launched into a tirade
about Google CEO Eric Schmidt. "I'm going to f***ing bury
that guy, I have done it before, and I will do it again.
I'm going to f***ing kill Google." Schmidt previously
worked for Sun Microsystems and was the CEO of Novell.

It's spam from a spammer who lost a lawsuit over spam to Microsoft,
and this is his rather ridiculous way of reacting to that suit.

Do a web search for Robert Soloway.

Anyone that takes email seriously has a serious problem. I still don't
understand why people keep writing to others to report that they are
getting spam. SPAM IS A FACT OF LIFE! Live with it. It ain't going
away. I ignore 99% of it and the rest I report to ebay, paypal and
other instutions like that. I don't complain, I just forward the
message to the proper place that has a department like "spoof" and
they follow up from there.

If as many people took time out to become active in organizing a
consumer union, we might have lower gas prices. Complain about
something you have power over, not spam.

Do you reply to spam emails and call the stop numbers on junk faxes?
Every time I get the urge to turn on my automatic fax receiving, I get
junk faxes. When I turn it off, I no longer get awakened by fax calls
in the middle of the night. I choose not to turn off my email so I
live with the spam. I only choose to complain to the complainers from
time to time. I am sorry but tonight it is your turn.

Just ignore them and, when you want to know if the stuff is true or
not, then corroborate with several different sources. You will usually
find the answer that way.

I was ranting about people and email in general. I felt the need to do
so by the quoted note about Microsoft. Why do people need to complain
to the help newsgroup?

That's all.

My "rant" was spurred on by the fact that the message was sent at all
as opposed to just hitting the "DELETE" button.
