Newsgroups are intermittent

For several weeks I have had an intermittent connection to some Newsgroups.

I can post a message and it shows correctly in my OE "Sent" Folder. However,
it does not show up on specific newsgroups. I tried to post to alt.test and
it works fine. But, if I post a message to a very broadbased NG like alt.
homer.repair, it does not show up, even if I wait a day or two.

My sent message also does not show up in the Google group archives. IOW, I
send it but it does not arrive at the NG.

Will be interesting to see if this message shows up in roadrunner.san.help

How can I address this problem?

Same here. It's pretty typical of RR news servers, not much you can do about
it.

The responses you get will be to pay for another service even though you're
already paying for it with RR/AOL.

Try signing up with Teranews for a $4.00 one-time fee that you can use
during RR's many, many outages. Even though it's a free server and low
priority to them, they are light years better than RR/AOL.

I have encountered the same problem for the last week or so. A total of
around total posts to such groups as rec.puzzles, misc.consumers and
misc.consumers.house. I think it's 4 of the 6 didn't go anywhere and
required reposting. The messages were shown as sent by Agent, but did not
appear on the RR servers nor in Google.

I hadn't posted problem here because I don't think anyone in RR gives a
damn.

I just hung up from tier 2 customer support and they refuse to do anything
unless I set up Outlook Express (I use Agent - have been for years) to read
Usenet and THEN call them back. Until I do that, there is no problem with
their server. I suggest they look at this thread and they refuse to do
that. I quote "we do not have a problem with our servers because no one
has reported it."

PLEASE call the 695-3220 number and wait the 30 minutes before they answer.
Maybe if enough of us call they will at least acknowledge there is a
problem.

For several weeks I have had an intermittent connection to some Newsgroups.

In the last 5 days I've made multiple attempts to post to
alt.games.unreal.tournament and alt.games.unreal.tournament2003 with no
success.

Based on groups.google.com, the posts really aren't getting posted.

It would be nice if the news server would give an error notice rather
than silently dropping post requests.
