I read the summary of the proposed settlement, and I think it's saying that
we'll be able to save $1 per month for 3 years if we own our own cable
modem. Looking at some cable modem prices (http://snurl.com/fzlv) it
doesn't seem like a very good deal to me.

It's TOTAL bullshit.

Other ISPs offer $10 or even $15 a month off their rates
if you own your own modem.

But I'll bet the lawyers collected a nice 7-figure paycheck.

I've never seen a class action suit come out with any value worth filing
the coupon to receive, personally. I got one in the mail where if you
got screwed for $40 buying some piece of equipment from manufacturer X,
send in the paperwork and they'll mail you a coupon for $5 off your next
purchase or some such. It's always BS.
